In conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce and the City of Arab, The Downtown area will feature several events for the 2010 Year of the Small Town and Downtown reunion - including a historical walk, cemetery stroll and the unveiling of a new historical marker in September. Events will begin with the Poke Salat Festival in May and continue through the fall.

New this year - The Downtown Merchants will be hosting a monthly Art Walk in Historic Downtown - featuring artists and musicians from North Alabama.

The New Farmer's Market Pavilion is already causing a stir among farmers with phone calls nearly daily wanting information about participating. The rules and regulations are being set by the Downtown Merchants, The City of Arab and The State of Alabama Farmer's Market Authority and we will be planning a grand opening weekend. Please watch for more information.

The past few years have seen a resurgence of businesses and retail shops moving into Downtown Arab and we're pleased to announce that Yancey's Antiques will be opening in late March.
