Farmers set up in the parking lot
on 1st Ave NW for the first weekend of Downtown Arab's Farmer's
Market. Customers were able to purchase locally grown produce
that had been fresh picked the day before. Above, farmers Bobby
Briscoe and Billy Murphy chat with customers about their offerings.

The First Downtown Arab Farmers Market
opened on Saturday June 14th, 2008. The weather was overcast which provided a cool
breeze all morning - couldn't have been nicer. We had farmers set up selling
vegetables they had picked the day before - from their LOCAL gardens... and we
had a steady stream of customers all morning. There was a variety of
vegetables including peppers, radishes, cucumbers, squash, potatoes, onions
and cabbages to name a few.

We also had a wonderful group of
singers that came to the gazebo and entertained everyone for several
hours with a variety of music. It was a perfect day!
